I’m Donna

People are my passion.  I have been working with families in the Portland metro area my entire adult life.  I have been a caregiver, a Postpartum Doula with ABC Doula Service for almost 15 years, and a nanny for families with multiples.  Suffice to say, I am familiar with juggling more than one need at a time.  

I have always been drawn to problem-solving and helping parents understand what their children are trying to tell them, whether it be the cries of a newborn, twin toddlers in a tantrum, or a nonspeaker on the letterboards.  

I trained as a Registered Spelling-to-Communicate practitioner through the International Association for Spelling to Communicate. I was mentored by S2C Practitioner, Dana Woodhouse of Praxis S2C.  

I completed my training at an incredible internship with Dawnmarie Gaivin at SPELLERS San Diego (formally Transcending Autism and Apraxia) in Oceanside, CA.  I am now a SPELLERS Method Provider. 

I am thrilled to support nonspeakers as they gain communication skills through spelling as a method to communicate.
